Must-see: The Paphos Archaeological Park

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Paphos Archaeological Park has been inhabited since the prehistoric era, and once comprised four grand Roman villas. It's particularly renowned for its Tombs of the Kings and detailed mosaic floors, and is open to visitors throughout the year. See the Asklepieion that was once a nursing home, explore the enormous 2nd-century Odeon, and observe the mythological artworks of the 4th-century House of Aion.

Coral Bay

One of the most famous beaches in Cyprus, Coral Bay has a prestigious EU Blue Flag rating, and is just a few kilometres from Paphos. It comprises 600 metres of pristine golden sands, and is overlooked by numerous trendy bars and tavernas.

The Petra tou Romiou

Known in English as the Aphrodite's Rock, the Petra tou Romiou is a magnificent series of rocks where you can witness some spectacular views of the sunset. In Greek mythology, it is the birthplace of Aphrodite, a Greek goddess of beauty and love.

The Chrysoroyiatissa Monastery

Dating back to the 12th century, the impressive Chrysoroyiatissa Monastery is high up on the Cyrpriot hills and is surrounded by beautiful vineyards.

A little further afield: Mount Olympus

1,952m-high, Mount Olympus, the highest peak in Cyprus, is also revered for its stunning panoramic views, and can be reached by car.
