Cape Verde

The tropical weather on Cape Verde, an island just off the coast of Africa, makes every month a good time to go. Between November and May almost every day is sunny. It's popular for beach and sunshine holidays and relaxing, as well as for trying something new. Take advantage of the great weather by signing up for wind sports, watersports and diving.

Tenerife

With the nickname 'the island of eternal spring', Tenerife can be relied upon to be comfortably fresh and cool. The low winter temperatures hover around a refreshing 15 degrees. Tenerife is also bathed in close to 3,000 hours of sunshine a year. That gives you enough time to take a good look at the China-themed Siam Park, Mount Teide and the national park, La Laguna cathedral and the Pyramids of Güímar.

Spain

The three 'climatic zones' across Spain make the weather slightly different inland than it is on the coast. Staying at a seaside resort is typically cooler than holidaying further into mainland Spain. June, July, August and September are always the warmest months of the year. Stay in Alicante, Barcelona or Benidorm to be by the ocean, and choose Madrid to be right in the centre of the country.

Greece

A Mediterranean climate gives Greece hot, bright and breezy summer days. It also has micro-climates, such as the sunny yet occasionally wet weather on the Aegean islands (Kos, Santorini, etc.). Must-sees in Greece include the Parthenon and Acropolis, Aquaworld aquarium on Crete, and the rest of the Ionian Islands.

Turkey

Summers are hot and dry on Turkey's coast, such as at Istanbul and Antalya. Inland, closer to Ankara, the sunny season is a sharper contrast to the low winter temperatures. You can soak up the sun anywhere you go in Turkey. Find some shade indoors at the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, or visit Pamukkale to bathe in thermal mineral water flowing from the hills.

Florida

The 'Sunshine State' is a natural choice for holidaymakers in search of bright, warm weather. May to October is the rainy season, yet daily temperatures stay high. Florida is perfect for family holidays; Walt Disney World, SeaWorld, Epcot and Universal Orlando Resort are all here. Cool off at the Florida Keys or the Everglades National Park.
