Information about flights to Antalya
If you're looking for a seaside holiday in the sun then look no further than Antalya. The city sits on Turkey's south coast, with the Mediterranean Sea right on its door step. The great weather and waves have made Antalya into Turkey's biggest seaside resort.
Beaches
Antalya beaches are some of the best in the world, and thanks to the area's popularity there is a beach for everyone here. If you're looking for quiet shores and leisurely sunbathing then Konyaalti beach and Olympos beach will be perfect for you. Konyaalti is easy to get to and many holiday goers find themselves visiting regularly during their Turkish holidays. Olympos beach is a little more difficult to reach, but well worth the journey. The beach is within the National Green Park, an area carefully preserved with some stunning views and surroundings.
Lara beach is the most popular one in the area, with a huge amount of sun-worshippers from all over the world flocking to its shores. The beach has a range of activities on offer. If you want, take a short walk along the sand. You'll find plenty of sunbeds and parasols available for rent so it's easy to spend the whole day listening to the sounds of the sea.
Great places to eat
Antalya has a great combination of places to eat that make it easy to go for dinner regularly or treat yourself less often if that's what you fancy. Club Arma is a quirky sea food restaurant that has a great variety of fish dishes to try. For a more Turkish feel you can visit Yemenli. Here you can eat inside or out and choose from the kind of traditional Turkish fare that has made this restaurant a city favourite.
If you feel like something a little more cutting edge then Vanilla is a modern restaurant run by a successful English chef and his Turkish wife, making for a great combination of the two cultures and foods.
Must-see places
The Antalya countryside contains some fantastic sights, and it is well worth renting a car or hopping on a bus in order to travel out of the main town and explore more. Duden waterfalls are around 12km to the north-east of Antalya. These natural water features are set amongst beautiful greenery that would not look out of place in a faraway rain forest. Travel up into the hills and you will be able to see Pamukkale, a set of hot springs carved into mountainside that look like enormous stepping stones.
For a drier trip you can see the Yivliminare mosque, an old and beautiful building that overlooks the local mountains and blue sea, perfect for taking photos to show your friends at home.
