Portlethen Hotels

During the summer months, many people visit the coastal settlement of Old Portlethen to observe white-beaked dolphins and whales, which are abundant throughout Aberdeenshire's coastal waters. Today, the venue exhibits the history of the Gordon Highlanders army regiment, which was active for more than 100 years until 1994.

Dunnottar Castle

There are few castles in Britain that can match the spectacular natural scenery that surrounds Dunnottar Castle, which was probably fortified long before the Norman era. Although now in ruins, the surviving sections of the castle have been carefully restored, and the site is protected as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
