The Somerset Strip
Brean, along with its neighbouring villages, Berrow and Burnham, collectively make up the ‘three bees' and are a veritable holidaymakers paradise. Spend the day luxuriating on the beach, interspersing a great book with the occasional dip in the sea, which at Brean is really rather warm for England.
If the kids are getting restless, in nearby Burnham is the Animal Farm Adventure Park. The park has animals to pet and feed, an indoor play barn and you can even go on a pony ride along the beach. If this won't leave the whole family happy then more fun awaits back in Brean.
Of course, if you are a keen equestrian and horse owner, Brean Beach is one of the few beaches in the area where you can ride your horse with impunity, so gallop away!
Leisure for Pleasure
After a day of outdoor seaside fun, wind down or up at Brean Leisure Park. The complex is just off the seafront and its four theme parks each provide tons of fun for all the family.
Fun City is just that. A kaleidoscopic world of over 40 fantastic rides and attractions. If roller coasters are your thing, Astro Storm is a nerve-wracking ride through space and time. There are also mini coasters for kids and seaside favourites like the dodgems and a carousel.
If the weather outside is frightful, or you're visiting in the winter, then roll up your towels and head for Brean Splash. The centre is open all year round and has several super-fun waterslides both inside and out. If you'd prefer to do lengths, there is a heated 25m pool and when the beach gets too much on a sunny day, a large sunbathing area outside.
If you like nothing more than to tee off, leave the kids at the Splash and try your arm on the 18 holes of Brean Golf Club. The course is one of the best in the South West and has fabulous views of the beach and the Bristol Channel.
After the sun has gone down, The Tavern at Brean Leisure Park comes to life. The Tavern is Somerset's leading evening venue for cabarets and entertainment and there are children's acts for the little ones as well.
Scrumpy country
For keen ramblers, a Brean hotel is an excellent base from which to explore all that wonderful north Somerset has to offer. Walk a few miles and you will find yourself among the cider orchards of the Somerset Levels. After a refreshing glass of the local liquid gold, keep going till you reach the Cheddar Gorge, where you can savour the breathtaking views of this enchanted land.
