If you missed out on a ticket to Glastonbury, don't worry;Cardiff's Glasnost Festival is a well-known alternative, showing music, art and theatre. Cardiff Hub Street Festival brings together the best of local musical talent and showcases them all over an August weekend. During a weekend in July, the Cardiff International Food and Drink Festival, takes place in Cardiff bay, where, as the name suggests, there's a mouth-watering choice of food and drink from local, national and international plates.

Food and Drink

Staying in one of the hotels in Cardiff but wanting more than the kitchen offer? Check out, The Goat Major, you can order from its food menu consisting solely of pies, and wash them down with locally brewed cask ale. Pettigrew Tea Rooms, right near Cardiff Castle is pleasant, serving Welsh tea and light bites within its traditional décor. Then there's Riverside Market, found on Fitzhamon embankment. It's a great place to buy cheap fresh ingredients, produced locally.
