Hotels in Hoylake
Hoylake is a seaside resort on the Wirral Peninsula, in the metropolitan county of Merseyside, in north-west England. The town has long been a mecca for holidaymakers, due to its sweeping sandy beaches and laid-back atmosphere. A Hoylake hotel is also an excellent base from which to explore the exciting city of Liverpool and the rest of the region.
If you're visiting Hoylake then you will probably already know about the beauty of its beaches. Since the town is located at the tip of a peninsula, it is surrounded on both sides by the Irish Sea.
Of the two beaches that are closest to the town, Hoylake Beach is probably the nicest and is a great spot to visit whatever the season. If the sun is shining, you'll want to head down with a towel and a picnic and spend the day dipping in and out of the water.
If, however, it's a blustery November day, never fear, for the beach is great for ramblers and a top spot for dog walkers. You may notice a group of windswept islands about a mile off the beach. These are Hilbre Island, Little Eye and Middle Eye, they can be reached on foot at low tide and are well worth a look around.
Royal Liverpool Golf Club
Hoylake is also home to one of Britain's most historic golf clubs. The Royal Liverpool Golf Club was formed in 1869, making it the second-oldest in England. Visitors are more than welcome to come and play the challenging, prestigious links.
For those who prefer spectating, the course regularly holds some of the biggest competitions in the game, which included the 2006 and 2014 Open Championships.
After a day spent on the beach, or negotiating a particularly tricky chip shot, you're sure to feel hungry. Luckily Hoylake is home to some great little bars and restaurants.
Entertaining some associates on a golfing trip? Then look no further than Maluca Brasserie, for a first-class dining experience right in the middle of town. The food is delecSEOSITE_LEVEL_DESCRIPTION and the service sublime.
If you are after a slightly more relaxed environment, then head to Antep BBQ for some of the best Turkish food this side of Istanbul. After your meal, make your way to The Ship Inn, for a refreshing pint in a great old-fashioned pub.
Your Hoylake hotel is, of course, expertly placed for a visit to one of Britain's most exciting and flourishing cities, Liverpool. The city has long been a cultural hub, producing some of the world's best-loved music, including The Beatles. Having been named European Capital of Culture in 2008, Liverpool is bursting with interesting things to see and do.
