Flight time: Flights to Viareggio involve landing at Pisa, the closest major airport. From London, flights to Pisa International Airport (Galileo Galilei) take about 2 hours 10 minutes. The flight time from more northern UK cities is closer to 2.5 hours.

• The fastest way to reach Viareggio from Pisa Airport is by train. The PisaMover shuttle service takes you to Pisa Centrale train station in just five minutes, and from there, it’s a direct 20-minute train ride to Viareggio, which usually costs between €4–€6.

• If you prefer the convenience of a taxi, the drive takes about 30 minutes, but it can cost upwards of €100.
