1. Head to PortAventura World

If you’re travelling with kids, this is the place to be in Salou. PortAventura World, an entertainment resort, keeps on attracting the crowds - 3.5 million a year to be exact! It’s not hard to see why. Slide down water rides, enjoy the thrills of a tower drop ride and zip around the park on a thrilling roller coaster. It’s a firm favourite for theme parks in Europe.

2. Go to Ferrari Land

What to do in Salou if you’re a Ferrari fan? Head to Ferrari Land, of course! This is another resort tucked inside the PortAventura World. It’s home to a plethora of rides, car racing simulators and offers a huge number of restaurants and shops for hungry adventure-seekers. This is the only European park dedicated to the motor racing team! 3. Enjoy the sun at Llevant Beach

One of the funnest things to do in Salou is simply to relax by the beach. Soak up some sunshine while you chill by the clear water. Read a book, play some volleyball or simply watch the world go by. If you’re looking for sports on the beach, Salou has them. Here you can enjoy kayaking, canoeing, waterskiing, jet skiing, parasailing and paragliding. The beach and the water is where it’s at in this pocket of Spain.

4. Have a splash at the PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park

Another PortAventura treasure - the PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park is home to a wave pool, a lazy river and a number of water slides. Slip and slide throughout the park. There is a wonderfully fun atmosphere all around. With bars and restaurants on site, this is one of the best things to do in Salou. A day full of fun we’re sure!

5. Go dancing in Salou!

Salou is home to numerous bars which boast a thriving nightlife. There are plenty of joints that specialise in different types of music. From trance to house, Salou is bursting with tunes. Head to the nightclub Flashback for a never-ending dance floor - both inside and outside! If rock music is more your thing, head to Bar Zeppelin to enjoy some live tunes. There is, of course, an Irish bar to hand. Visit Christy’s Irish bar for some traditional beers. You might even spot some traditional Irish dancing, too!

While you’re there: If you’re a fan of karaoke, head to Ski Hut to sing your heart out!

6. Catch a light show at the illuminated fountain

Located just along the seafront, there is a free attraction worth visiting. The fountain holds a spectacular light show in the evenings. Watch as the water is thrust into the air while pretty lights twinkle. There is also music to add to the atmosphere too.

7. Have fun go-karting in Salou

Salou is all about outdoor fun. But it's not just amusement parks and water sports. Go-karting is one of the most popular things to do in Salou. Head here with your little ones (or to bring out the inner race driver in you!) and enjoy zipping and bending around all the race tracks.
