Information about flights to Lanzarote
Fly to Lanzarote this weekend
With little rain and warm temperatures through the year, Lanzarote is the perfect destination for a holiday in the sun. Head to the beach or explore the volcanic landscape of this beautiful Island.
Beaches
Take advantage of the warm weather and head to one of Lanzarote's many beaches. Puerto del Carmen is one of the most popular spots in Lanzarote and also the largest resort area. The beautiful beaches are the biggest attraction. Rent a hammock on Playa Blanca beach and relax in the sunshine. Or head to Los Pocillos Beach, rent a surfboard and ride the gentle waves. Escape the resorts and head just north to Las Conchas beach in La Graciosa. Although the clear waters and golden sand is inviting, try exploring the island for unrivalled views of the horizon.
Go off the beaten track
A fun way to explore the island is on a 4x4 safari. Go through the desert landscape at high speed and see the fantastic geographical features of Lanzarote like its volcanic landscape, and learn about the unique geology. Kids and adults alike will have a great time at Aquapark Costa Teguise. The waterpark has a kids' area with a shallow pool and slides with bigger, more thrilling slides and rides for adults. And when you want a break on dry land, head to one of the many restaurants and cafés, or for something more active go paintballing.
Food
Being an island, seafood is a large part of Lanzarote's cuisine. Traditional Spanish seafood dishes can be found in restaurants all over the island such as Calamari and Tuna steak. Try a local Canarian seafood dish such as Sancocho Canario, a salty fish stew or casserole usually accompanied with potatoes. Feeling adventurous? Try Gofio, grains of sweetcorn, wheat or barley cooked in sand. A local innovation, they found a way to roast the grains without any grains of sand remaining in the final product. Gofio can be savoury – add a bit of milk and it becomes a breakfast food, or you can add some sugar and water and it can be kneaded into a sweet dough-like snack.
Nightlife
Puerto del Carmen is also the hub of Lanzarote's nightlife. Avenida De Las Playas is a mile-long stretch in the heart of Puerto del Carmen. Lined with clubs, bars, casinos, and pubs, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Centro Atlantico is a great place for pubs and clubs in particular. Charlie's Bar is a must for live music fans, the most longstanding music venue in Lanzarote.
