1. Alcanada

Situated at the northern tip of the island with spectacular views of the Bay of Alcúdia, this is the only course in Majorca that sits right on the coast. It was designed by world-famous golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr and opened in 2003, while all the greens were renovated in 2018/2019.

Alcanada has hosted major events including the Rolex European Challenge Tour Grand Final. The course has a very varied layout including valleys and ravines, some elevated tees, a flatter section by the sea, and challenging greens with hidden breaks. Consistently rated one of the best golf courses in Majorca, it’s well worth the one-hour drive from Palma.

Best for: Spectacular views, great design, fewer players on the course

Prices (18 holes): From €66 to €186

2. De Andratx

For experienced players, Golf de Andratx is a must on any list of Majorca golf courses. Situated in the southwest of the island just a stone’s throw from the sea, the course boasts an original design with a number of raised tees offering stunning views of the coastline.

If you fancy a challenge, De Andratx is the place to go: with four par fives, five blind shots, and seven ponds, it’s a technically demanding course that’s very rewarding to complete. The highlight is the 6th hole, the “Green Monster”, a mammoth 609-metre par five that tops the list of the longest holes in Spain. Note that a handicap of 28.0 (men) or 36.0 (women) is required for this course.

Best for: A technical challenge for accomplished golfers, great coastal views

Prices (18 holes): €96 to €140

3. Pula

Tucked away in the northeast of the island, in Son Servera, Pula Golf Resort offers hotel facilities situated in a charming manor house dating all the way back to 1581. The course itself opened in 1995 but was completely redesigned between 2004 and 2006 by legendary golfer José María Olazábal, so it goes without saying that a round here is a high-quality experience.

The par 72 course, which hosted the Mallorca Classic event between 2003 and 2007, describes itself as “challenging but fair”, with two lakes and a river to contend with. History buffs will also enjoy the preserved archaeological remains from the Talaiotic era.

The closest towns to Pula are Son Servera, Capdepera or Arta. You can also stay in some of the main resort areas in Majorca, like Cala Millor, Cala Bona or Canyamel. From any of this areas you can reach Pula in about 10 min by car.

Best for: A combined hotel & golf stay in a secluded setting

Prices (18 holes): €69 to €119

4. Real Golf de Bendinat

Designed by renowned course architect Martin Hawtree, Real Golf de Bendinat is handily located just seven kilometres away from Palma in a wide, tree-lined valley, with wonderful mountain views as a backdrop.

The course is fairly narrow and features a number of subtle yet challenging slopes, particularly on the greens, so it rewards good strategy and careful shot selection. A number of famous names have enjoyed a round at this par 70 course over the years, including Michael Douglas and Nigel Mansell. The club also scores particularly well for its hospitality, with a cosy and welcoming clubhouse just steps away from the first tee.

Best for: Entertaining yet challenging design, convenient location

Prices (18 holes): €65 to €108

6. Son Gual

Described as “what a modern championship course should be” by Golf World magazine, Golf Son Gual is currently ranked as the second-best course in Majorca (behind Alcanada) by Top 100 Golf Courses.

Players must navigate challenges including numerous bodies of water and vast bunkers, with the largest measuring a whopping 240m by 84m at the 2nd hole.

The beautifully undulating course has been compared to Augusta by Ian Woosnam – high praise indeed.

Best for: Stunning visuals, interesting obstacles including huge bunkers

Prices (18 holes): €99 to €155

Its surprisingly lush fairways guarantee an enjoyable round. Son Quint, opened in 2007, is longer and more open than the other courses, making it great for beginners and perfect for a stress-free round.
