Brought to you by the team behind Glasgow's award-winning Ox and Finch restaurant, this mezze, charcoal grill and cocktail bar is inspired by the flavours of the Levant. Early favourites on the menu include chuck-eye steak from the charcoal grill and chicken shawarma served with pitta and plenty of sauces, herbs and pickles. A charcoal grill will be the centrepiece of BABA’s open kitchen, where Scottish lamb, beef and seafood are spiced and grilled – Levantine-style – over coals, side by side with whole cauliflowers and harissa pumpkin. At the heart of the hotel, The Garden is a spot where guests can sit back and relax, whatever the time of day or night. This is where you’ll find breakfast being served until 10am (10.30am on weekends and bank holidays); afterwards, we switch to a light, all-day menu of salads, sandwiches and so forth, with a drinks menu that’s inspired by botanical infusions, spritzes and toddies.

The George Street Bar and Grill is the most exciting new restaurant and cocktail bar on George Street, Edinburgh’s most fashionable address, and winner of the coveted Food and Drink Special Commendation Award at the 2014 Scottish Hotel Awards. 0.4 Miles from the centre

Stay in a beautiful Grade 2 listed building in the heart of Edinburgh, a short walk from the Castle, National Museum of Scotland and Queen Street Gardens, at the 5-star The Principal Edinburgh George Street. Curl up in your colourful room, which is fitted with a flat-screen TV, with cable and on-demand movies, wifi access and private bathroom. After a major refurbishment the hotel's restaurant and bar, The Printing Press Bar & Kitchen opened in late 2015. The vision for the restaurant has been developed by one of London’s most respected restaurateurs, Des McDonald. With over 20 years’ experience running some of city’s most high profile establishments, he has shaped every aspect of The Printing Press from the concept, design and menu to bring a new restaurant experience to Edinburgh’s dining scene. The restaurant on George Street nods to the capital’s rich literary heritage: number 25 George Street was home in the 1780s to the acclaimed novelist Susan Ferrier, the equal of Jane Austen, according to Sir Walter Scott, and Robert Burns was a frequent visitor; late, in 1840, records show one John Oliphant living there – and Oliphant’s and Ferrier’s descendants founded Oliphant, Anderson and Ferrier, one of Scotland’s most prestigious publishing houses.
