Silverstone Circuit

The legendary home of the British Grand Prix, Silverstone Circuit has been a mecca for motorheads since the 1940s. Set on a former airfield, Silverstone Circuit came into being following the end of the Second World War. Its location in the centre of the country made it a perfect venue for motorsports throughout Britain and by the 1950s Silverstone was established as the premiere setting for motor racing. This was also the decade that King George VI and Queen Elizabeth attended the Grand Prix – the first and only time a monarch has attended motor racing in Britain.

Events at Silverstone Circuit cover a wide range of motorsports, from classic car racing to MotoGP, and from Formula 1 to racing trucks. In addition to racing events, the track also hosts regular music concerts and running events.

Silverstone Circuit also offers the chance for you to get behind the wheel on the track. The experiences offered by Silverstone include skid control lessons, stunt driving lessons, bike track days, car track days and even helicopter rides of the area.

There are a number of hospitality options to enjoy on race day, from lavish meals at Brooklands Restaurant to live music and trackside views in the Drivers' Lounge at Lakeside. Ideal if you're planning to head to Silverstone as part of a celebration or big event, Silverstone Circuit is a fantastic place to be pampered while you watch the races.

Silverstone village and surroundings

The village of Silverstone itself is a quiet location with a history reaching back to the middle ages. In addition to a range of shops and cafés, Silverstone has a 19th-century church and a friendly pub, the White Horse Inn.

Travel further outside of Silverstone and you'll find Milton Keynes to the southeast and Northampton to the northeast. Milton Keynes is home to Bletchley Park, where the Code and Cypher School was based during the Second World War, and Northampton is home to a range of high street shops and restaurants.
