History

The history of Selsey can be traced back to the Stone Age. Around the period of 680 AD Selsey was the capital of the Kingdom of Sussex. During this period an underground tunnel ran from the beach to St Wilfrid's Chapel, Church Norton. The church today is a lot smaller than it was during the 18th century due to it being reduced in size during the 1860s.
