With so much to see and do, stopping over at a Bicester hotel is a great way to experience as much as possible. National chain Bicester hotels, B&Bs and pub inns can be found around town. There's even the Bicester Hotel, Golf & Spa resort for ultimate relaxation.
Bicester shopping
You can't miss Bicester Village – it has over 100 designer and retail outlets. Pick up items from Versace, Alexander McQueen, Burberry, DKNY and more at very attractive prices. There's a Starbucks in the Village for quick refreshment breaks in between browsing the rails.
Away from the fashion-hungry crowds at the Village, Pioneer Square/Crown Walk is a smaller shopping centre. It houses mid-range brands and a supermarket. There's a Vue cinema close by for dates, family outings or a rainy afternoon.
Places to eat
Whether you're in the mood for a quick takeaway or a three-course meal, Bicester has plenty of choices. Your options when you're peckish include French, Italian, Turkish, Chinese and Indian cuisine. Many of these are in the Pioneer Square area, where you'll also find Nando's and Prezzo.
The town has several pubs with a local, friendly atmosphere. The Acorn is part of the Hungry Horse chain, and The Penny Black is a branch of Wetherspoon's with reasonably priced food and drink.
Out and about
The town has two train stations – Bicester Town and Bicester North. Travelling to stay in Bicester from London, Banbury and Oxford is really easy. Oxford is within driving distance for the Ashmolean Museum and other famous sights of the university city.
Bicester Avenue Home & Garden Centre includes shops and a café, as well as a kids' play area. The retail selection is tailored to country living and the great outdoors, alongside homeware outlets and pet shops.
Bicester is also home to the Bure Park Nature Reserve. It's a great destination for a family day out, with wide open space for walking and cycling. The area is very well cared for by the local Residents' Association.
