Skiing

For beginners the best place to head to is the Chavannes area, which includes a handy gondola for easy access to the slopes. The Espace des Mappys is a safe beginners area set up with access from the Chavannes bubble lift and includes four gentle runs. Intermediate skiers have plenty of options to choose from, with 500km of piste to explore covering a staggering variety of terrain. If you're looking for a real challenge, Les Gets has nine black runs for advanced skiers. This includes the incredibly difficult, 1.23km Mouflons which pitches at up to 47 percent.

Snowboarding

Les Gets has a 523m boardercross course for snowboarding, dedicated to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic champion Déborah Anthonioz. The ski school also provides lessons on snowboarding, making the area an excellent place if you're looking to try something new.

Après-ski

The family-friendly nature of Les Gets means that it isn't the place to go for wild parties, but there's still a lot going on in the area during the night. The local cinema and bowling alley are both great fun. There are also plenty of bars offering live music and a chance to hit the dancefloor. The Irish Pub is one of the most welcoming venues, with regular live bands and delicious homebrewed beer.

Kids

Les Gets has a fantastic reputation for family-friendly fun. If you're travelling with young children, Les Fripouilles nursery provides exceptional care for kids between six months and four years. The various ski schools will teach older kids the basics of skiing, while away from the slopes the fun ‘Grand Cry' Native American-themed village has plenty of activities for the family to enjoy.

From gourmet cuisine to a quick bite to eat before hitting the slopes, Les Gets boasts an enormous array of options when it comes to food and drink.
