Hamburg could quite easily be nicknamed the 'city of bridges', because it is home to more than 2,300 of them, more than Amsterdam and Venice put together. This city has an enviable reputation for its excellent shopping, and surrounds the enormous Alster Lake, a haven for water sports enthusiasts.
