The sunniest city in Scotland, Dundee is the home of The Dandy and The Beano comics, and was a bustling maritime centre during the Industrial Revolution. Today, it is a flourishing cultural hub, renowned for its Contemporary Arts Centre and RRS Discovery ship, which sailed to Antarctica and is housed at the acclaimed Discovery Point Visitor Centre.
What to see in the city:

The McManus Galleries
Housed in an enchanting Gothic Revival building in the heart of the city, the McManus Galleries exhibit many interesting artistic and historic artefacts, and was designed by the distinguished architect George Gilbert Scott. The HMS Unicorn

This opulent hall was completed in 1923 and holds various concerts and other special events throughout the year. The building was pioneered by James Key Caird, who was one of the city's most influential residents and a prominent mathematician.
