Hotels in Dalaman

A charming Turkish farming town, Dalaman is situated on the south-west coast of Turkey in the Mu?la Province. The area boasts stunning stretches of long, sandy beaches and has a vast selection of Dalaman hotels and restaurants to choose from. The popular resorts Fethiye, Marmaris, Icmeler and Gumbet are all within easy reach of Dalaman, making it an ideal base.

Nearby areas

The unspoilt Dalaman Beach is an ideal spot for relaxing, walking or watching the sun go down.

Sarigerme Beach, just three miles away from Dalaman, has four miles of golden sand and shallow sea. A trip to the nearby island of Babaada from here makes for a great family day out.

One of the most beautiful beaches on the Mediterranean coastline, Iztuzu Beach, is a sand bar separating the sea from the mouth of the Dalyan Creek. Thirty minutes from Dalaman, it is an excellent swimming beach and one of the last nesting grounds for the endangered loggerhead turtles.

Only a 20-30 minute trip away from Dalaman is Dalyan. Here you can spend time browsing the diverse Turkish market stalls or take a look at the fascinating Lycian tombs carved into the rock face.

You could visit the nearby Sultaniye Hot Springs, give your body a mud-pack and wash it all off again in a hot sulphur pool – great fun for all the family!

Oludeniz

Just over an hour away is the infamous Blue Flag-winning Blue Lagoon at Oludeniz, chosen as one of the best beaches in Europe. The stunning mile long beach's shallow blue water is not only a beautiful sight, but is perfect for young children.

People not only flock to Olu Deniz in their thousands to experience the outstanding Blue Lagoon, but to paraglide off the 1,960 metre-high Babadag Mountain. Once airborne, you have 40 minutes to take in the view of the Blue Lagoon and Butterfly Valley, a large canyon that is considered to be one of the most picturesque and amazing places in Turkey. On a clear day you can see the island of Rhodes and beyond.

Food and drink

Dalaman town has many shops, restaurants, bars and tea gardens and many more are opening due to growing demand. Begonvil is set in a tranquil garden area, with inside and outside dining and live Turkish music on some nights. Sec Restaurant, opposite the main square, serves delicious Turkish cuisine and beer. Palmiye Restaurant, near the Mugla/Fethiye highway, serves a selection of European-style food and alcohol.
