Holidays to Olu Deniz are the mecca of beach getaways
While some may lament the lack of buildings in the lagoon, the fact that this area is a national nature reserve means that Olu Deniz is one of the most untouched and stunning beach resorts in the world. One other activity that Olu Deniz is well known for is paragliding. Take a tandem jump from the Babadag mountain at 2000 metres, and spend nearly three quarters of an hour soaring above the lagoon and the other holiday makers below.
Fancy something a bit wetter and fast paced then how about some white water rafting? The Dalaman river isn't far away and it offers some truly exhilarating rapids to traverse in a full sized dinghy. There are various grades throughout the water course, but for the most adventurous, there are some grade four ones that will leave you grinning from ear to ear. Fancy a bit more exploring? Why not visit the lively resort of Hisaronu, just two miles away, its perfect for shopping and picking up those much needed souvenirs.
One of the other most impressive parts of Olu Deniz is the backdrop. With hills and mountains not far from the beach, exploring is high on many a visitor's agenda. How you go about it though is up to you. Prefer walking? Take to the hiking trails. More interested in doing it at speed? Hire a bicycle and head into the hills near Karaagac village. If you're more of a naturist though and prefer to take things at a relaxed pace, but with some added comfort (and height), sit astride one of the local horses and enjoy a trek through the hills as people have done for hundreds of years.
