Holidays to Altınkum
The name Altinkum translates as ‘Golden Sands’ and taking one look at the sunny town, it’s easy to see how they came up with that name. The beautiful beaches gradually slope into the turquoise waters of the Aegean and the area is never short of warm weather and cloudless skies. The sea is shallow making it perfect for a spot of snorkeling and young swimmers. Altinkum prides itself in the fantastic variety of water sports it has on offer ranging from banana boats to jet skiing and everything in between. Fishing tours and group dives run regularly from the beach giving visitors a chance to jump in at the deep end. For those who would rather keep their feet dry, the bars and cafes along the promenade offer sun lounger service so you don’t even have to lift a finger.
Be a grown-up and a big kid
Holidays in Altinkum have got it just right. The historic landmarks that litter the city are fascinating to look at for your grown-up self but head in the other direction and you can release your inner child and splash about in the water park. The Apollo Temple is an amazing ancient site close to the city centre but if you’re willing to travel a bit further, Ephesus is even more incredible. Ephesus is the second largest ancient site in the world and, as a well preserved Roman city, is a real insight into the historic era. Just 15 minutes away from Altinkum you can find the town’s water park, there’s plenty of rides and pools but, again, if you’re willing to make the extra journey Adaland Aqua Park is even better! Boasting 25 acres and more than 20 rides, all the grown-up sight seeing will be well balanced out!
