Visit the nearby island of Spinaloga, where you can see their spectacular 16th century castle and get a real feel for the history of Elounda. Head to Heraklion for a great day of shopping where you can pick up many treasures to take home and adore. There is also the Heraklion museum which is a major attraction of the town due to the ancient artefacts that lie within the building.

Hiring a car in Elounda is recommended so that you can see the entire island and travel through the fragrant olive groves to see the spectacular hills amongst a backdrop of blue sea. With a car you can also venture to the Aqua Plus Waterpark in Anopoli which provides great fun for the whole family.
