It houses the headquarters for the Underwater Explorers Society and is home to Lucayan National Park. This is the place to explore over six miles of underwater caves, see flamingos, the rare Bahama parrot, the blind Remipedia and much more. For those of you who are big golfing enthusiasts, Grand Bahama offers spectacular golf courses some of which were designed by Joe Lee and Dick Wilson. If you enjoy beaches choose an Eleuthera holiday. The Island is 110miles long and full on pink and white sand beaches, a real paradise on earth.

Buzzing with casinos, clubs, bars, cabarets, restaurants, booze cruises and native shows you are spoilt for choice. A lot of the hotels will also have their own night clubs so you are never far from the party scene. The capital city in New Providence Island and Freeport are the most highly rated for nightlife. Virtually any type of cuisine can be found in the Bahamas but it would be a shame to not try some of the local cuisine. Seafood served with rice, is unsurprisingly the main dish in the Bahamas - try the Conch, a type of mollusc, or the variations of crab and lobsters served with a Bahamian twist.
