Information about flights to Vancouver
Fly out to the large Canadian city of Vancouver with lastminute.com and see a beautiful part of this enormous country. Canada has a huge amount of breathtaking scenery and lively cities to choose from, but Vancouver flights will take you to a part of the country like nowhere else. The city is separated from Vancouver Island by a huge river mouth, so there's a whole host of water activities going on as well as a refreshing coastal climate.
Inside the city
Take advantage of the great cultural spots inside the city by visiting Vancouver Art Gallery or the Science World for some family friendly educational trips during your stay. Within the city Stanley Park offers a great piece of greenery to get away from the concrete buildings, and what better way to drink it in than with a romantic horse-drawn tour of the leafy grounds. This city park is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, and gives a real glimpse of what the local lifestyle's all about.
The great outdoors
The Vancouver scenery represents some of North America's finest, and from the moment your flight touches down you'll have loads of ways to explore to choose from.
The city's close relationship with the water makes the harbour cruises and events a firm favourite. You'll be able to hop on a boat by either day or night and see the vast water next to the city much more closely than you could on dry land.
If boats aren't your thing then the Flyover Canada experience could be for you. Grab an aerial take on the city and its surrounding environment with one of these tours by plane and see the surrounding environment. Of course, if you don't fancy jumping into a plane, then the Vancouver Lookout in the downtown harbour centre is a great way to climb nearly 170 metres in the air and look out across the city.
Out on the town
There's a whole host of places to eat and drink in the evenings in Vancouver. To start your night why not try The Flying Pig in downtown Yaletown where you can choose from some beautifully presented and filling meals. The clams are a Vancouver favourite and come highly recommended.
Once you've eaten your fill, wander out into the city and try some of the well-established cocktail bars. You'll have plenty to choose from but there are a few that come highly recommended. Pourhouse is a brave nightclub and cocktail bar that will get the measure of you before they make up your drink. Once they know your favourite tipples you'll find yourself with an exciting new drink in your hand and a great topic of conversation at the table. If you're looking for something a little more typical then the Uva Wine Bar is a firm favourite with theatre goers, and enjoys waves of punters as shows start and end.
