At night-time
Once you arrive in Toronto you will quickly see how vibrant the city is and how much there is to do. In the evenings you're spoilt for choice, from great restaurants to fun bars and cool spots to go dancing – Toronto's evening scene has it all.
To start your night grab yourself some food at Chantecler, a bistro in the city that has three different menus to choose from. This smaller spot can seat around 26 at a time, but the size isn't due to lack of popularity. The meals consist of well-dressed plates with adventurous combinations of flavours. If you choose to eat here you won't be disappointed
Whilst you're downtown you'll be able to head into the Beer Bistro to sample some of the Toronto beers. As the name suggests this bar is all about its lagers, although you'll find most of the other typical drinks you'd expect as well. For an evening more focused on the entertainment, give The Horseshoe Tavern a try. This down to earth Canadian bar is a favourite of many locals, and usually has some form of live music on display.
Daytime fun
During the day Toronto has even more to offer than at night. Hop on a boat to take a tour of the harbour, or head a little further out to see the impressive skyline at its finest. There are also tours across to the scenic islands, if you want to escape the city for an afternoon. Of course, for those who want to really see what Toronto has to offer, you can embark on one of the sightseeing tours within the city. There are open-top double-decker buses just waiting to take you around the best spots in the city. Get up close to the CN tower, see the hockey hall of fame or jump off and take in a show at the Royal Alexander Theatre.
Of course, once you've done all that you'll have worked up a hunger, so why not stop for one of the classic North American sandwiches at the 416 snackbar? This deli-style lunchtime favourite has plenty to choose from, including a huge and delicious Smorgasbord platter for two that comes at a really good value.
