Can I take cigarettes on a plane?

While there are strict rules about smoking on planes and heavy fines, you can take cigarettes and other tobacco products in your hand luggage. E-cigarettes and lighters (including Zippo lighters) come under the liquid allowance - so include them in your liquids bag. These should be kept on you throughout the flight as e-cigarettes for example, are banned from holding luggage.
