Further afield
The Black Sea coast is well known for its many seaside resorts, as well as its natural beauty. To the north there's the Danube Delta, a vast wetland area that's renowned for its biodiversity and exceptional wildlife. Take in stretches of deserted coastline and marshes as you soak up the wild atmosphere. Just to the north of the city lies Mamaia, a thin strip of sand where you might struggle to find space during the day but you'll have no trouble tracking down a party in the evening. Alternatively, travel south along the Romanian coast to Vama Veche. This is a quieter and more relaxed resort, close to the border with Bulgaria, where you'll be able to spend time topping up your tan during the day before dancing through the night at one of the numerous beach-front bars.
