Set in 300 acres of beautiful parkland, 15 miles west of Newcastle, Matfen Hall Hotel occupies a majestic 19th-century stately home. Whether you’re travelling for the 27-hole championship golf course, the Aqua Vitae Spa, or the fine dining and delicious local produce available in front of a glowing log fire at The Library Restaurant, the hotel will certainly leave you impressed. The rooms range from the traditional to the contemporary, and all come with en-suite bathrooms and flatscreen TVs.
Restaurant
The Library Restaurant is located in the library of the original house. Antique bookcases line the room along with a grand Oak carved fireplace making guests feel as if they are dining in the original stately home. Large bay windows frame the picturesque views of the parkland golf course as guests enjoy superb cuisine, awarded 2 Rosettes by the AA, using only the freshest local produce.
A relaxed and informal pub style restaurant and bar located in the Golf Club House. Guests can enjoy traditional homemade pub style food whilst admiring the superb views of the golf course.
Overlooking the final green of the golf course, the Conservatory offers stunning views of the mature parkland that surrounds the hotel. Offering a less formal atmosphere, it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy pre-dinner or after-diner drinks.
