Beach
The main pull for visitors to Seaford is the town's beach. During the summer the area is full of colourful towels, body boards and sandcastles. Whether you're travelling with a family or looking for a romantic getaway, Seaford beach is a beautiful location for everything from swimming to sunbathing.
From the beach you'll be able to see the iconic white cliffs of England's south coast to the east, and there are also a number of other beaches a short distance to the west at Newhaven and Peacehaven.
Shops
Seaford boasts a charming selection of independent shops and restaurants, and you could easily spend a day wandering from one vintage clothing shop to the other. Walk along Marine Parade and you'll find an array of cafés, arcades and bars. If you're looking for big-name shops, Brighton and Eastbourne are both within easy reach on either side of the town.
Walking
In addition to the beach, Seaford is surrounded by a number of beautiful national parks. A short distance to the east, just past Seaford Head Golf Club, is Seven Sisters Country Park. Whether you plan to walk along the coast to Beachy Head or rent a bike and follow a cycle path along the Sussex Heritage Coast, Seven Sisters is a breathtaking area to explore. Also close to the town is the sprawling South Downs National Park. The South Downs stretch all the way to Portsmouth and is an ideal destination for outdoor activities including horse riding and wildlife spotting.
Further afield
A 30-minute drive from Seaford to the east will take you to the bigger town of Eastbourne. A similar length drive to the west will take you to Brighton where you'll find a range of historical and cultural attractions, from Brighton Pier to Brighton Pavilion.
