How to reach Southampton

• Flight time: Nonstop flights to Southampton take about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 25 minutes from Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle. No airlines fly between London and Southampton.

• Transfer time: The airport is within a 15-minute drive of the city centre. You can pick up a taxi at the rank outside the terminal, though this is easier said than done if you haven’t booked ahead. The fastest option is to take the train from the adjacent Southampton Airport Parkway station to Southampton Central, an 8-minute ride.

• Price: Taxi fares vary from company to company; expect to pay around £20 for a city centre transfer. One-way train tickets to Southampton Central cost £4.90.
