Enjoy traditional seaside fun at Brighton Palace Pier, where there’s more than enough arcade games and soft play areas to keep kids of all ages entertained. The adults, meanwhile, can rest up at the cafe or stroll to the end of the pier to take in the beautiful sea views, which are made even better if you time your visit with the sunset. There’s also a number of family restaurants here, so you can make an evening out of it.
Best for: Seaside fun.
While you’re there: There’s also fairground rides, from tea-cups to the Waltzers!
If you’ve got loads of energy, a minimal fear of heights and like to feel the wind between your hair, then make sure you give the exhilarating Brighton Zip a whirl (or should that be zip?). Leap off from the platform and glide 300 metres over the iconic beachfront, with sunbathers below looking like ants! Kids aged over 6 can enjoy the ride.
Best for: Adrenaline junkies.
While you’re there: Reward yourselves with ice cream from their gelateria.
Make the most of Brighton’s seafront position with a trip to the beach – but not just for sandcastles and splashing about. One of the best leisure activities you can enjoy with kids is the Yellowave Beach Sports Venue, located on the south side of the promenade. While adults can play separately, there’s a weekly kids beach volleyball lesson, too!
Best for: Beach sport fans.
While you’re there: Cool off with a dip in the sea or a well-deserved ice cream afterwards.
Everyone will be awed by the views that the i360 has to offer. The needle-like spire that lines the seafront whizzes you up 450 feet into the air, and from the viewing platform you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views from every angle: the bustling seafront, the horizon-lined sea ahead and sweeps of countryside behind. Not only is it a great way to get your bearings of the south coast, but kids can enjoy roaming around this ‘vertical pier’ at their own leisure.
Best for: Great views at great heights.
While you’re there: Buy a local-made souvenir at the gift shop.
Practice your best shot at GLOBALLS, a tropical- and dinosaur-themed crazy golf centre. There are two golf ultraviolet courses to choose from, which makes for just as fun a visit as the mini-golf games themselves! With each round taking roughly an hour, you can choose how much time you want to spend here. Be warned, though, if you’re competitive, as you might want to stay for longer!
Best for: Sporty types.
While you’re there: Located in the marina area, there’s plenty of family-friendly restaurants nearby, including TGI Fridays, which offer great views over the marina.
Not only is this a great way to see some of Brighton’s top sights and locations, but it’s good fun for the kids, too. Once you’ve downloaded the app, it’s time to get cracking (or codebreaking), as you have one hour to answer ten questions that lead you Victoria Gardens through the Lanes to Brighton Pier.
Best for: Fun days out.
While you’re there: Revisit some of the spots you passed by for a pit-stop!
Get your creative juices flowing at The Painting Pottery Cafe, located in the popular North Laines area of Brighton. Choose from over 200 pottery items and spend the next couple of hours painting your selected piece! This is a great way for all the family to get hands-on with a fun, creative activity, with studio assistants on hand to help you out if needed.
Best for: Art fans.
While you’re there: Afterwards, take a stroll down the bustling North Laines and check out the different shops that line the street.
