Local History
If you’re a history buff you’ll find Dallas a fascinating place to visit. The city is home to the Sixth Floor Museum which explores the assassination of John F Kennedy in 1963. The museum offers you the unique opportunity to peer through the actual window where Lee Harvey Oswald fired from. The museum also has exhibits which include a great selection of artefacts, photos and eye-witness accounts of the assassination. The museum’s bookshop is a great place to pick up some souvenirs and books which offer even more detailed information on the world-famous event.
Dallas Cowboys
Dallas is the home of the famous American football team, The Dallas Cowboys, and even if you’re not a sports fan it’s worth going to see one of their games. The teams AT& T stadium has an 85,000 capacity, and it needs to be as the club is reported to have a value of 2.3 billion US dollars.
If there aren't any games on when you visit, you can take a stadium tour. The tours are not just for sports fans as the stadium is also home to an art museum. If you opt for the VIP tour you will get to go down to the field and visit many of the backstage areas including the locker rooms.
Art Galleries
Art lovers will find Dallas also has plenty to offer them with its many excellent art galleries. The Meadows Museum is home to one of the largest collections of Spanish art outside of Spain. The collection ranges from the 10th century all the way through to the 20th, and has work from some of the world’s greatest painters like Goya and Picasso. The gallery also has a brilliant gift shop which specialises in informative books and unique jewellery.
