History, parks and walks
Victoria Peak is a majestic mountain giving spectacular panoramic views of the city and harbour. Take the funicular railway from Saint John's Cathedral or hike up the road for a view that is worth the climb. Enjoy the Victoria Peak Gardens and even dine at one of the restaurants.
A calm retreat in the middle of the city, Nan Lian Garden provides peace and tranquillity after a day exploring. Enjoy a walk through the lush green parkland with charming Tang dynasty-style architecture canopied by trees. Adjacent is Chi Lin Nunnery which houses a Buddhist temple and relics. A truly serene oasis amid a metropolis.
Hong Kong Park provides a relaxing environment within landscaped gardens and boasts a Garden Plaza and a Tai Chi Garden. Discover the Edward Youde aviary and plant exhibitions in the Forsgate Conservatory and even spot turtles. The park also houses Grade II listed historic buildings which date back to British colonialism.
If you fancy a challenge, then Dragon's Back on Hong Kong's southeastern island could be for you. The trail is well worth the hike with breathtaking views of the city emerging from the sea and mountains.
Sports
The main sports venue, the impressively arched stands of Hong Kong Stadium, hosts both sports and entertainment. Why not take a trip to see an exciting rugby or rugby sevens match? Or if having a flutter takes your fancy, visit the beautiful racecourse at the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
Theme parks
Discover nature and have an adrenaline rush all in one place. Ocean Park is an animal theme park featuring four roller coasters and animal exhibits including the world's largest aquarium dome with more than 5,000 fish.
A day out for all the family, Hong Kong Disneyland has seven themed areas including Toy Story Land. Discover your favourite Disney characters and be amazed by the nightly Disney in the Stars fireworks display.
Food and drink
Hong Kong's cuisine is very much influenced by the sea. Victoria City Seafood Restaurant offers excellent choice with freshly prepared dim sum. Try the freshly prepared pan-fried cuttlefish and fried soft-shell crab, which are sure to get your taste buds going.
If you would like to embrace the night, take a cruise along Victoria Harbour and enjoy an hour's journey on a traditional Chinese junk boat. Sip your drinks whilst being amazed by the city's multi-coloured lights glistening on the sea.
