Description
The 2 star Economy Hotel (formerly the Skane) is a small tourist-class hotel on the edge of Tallinn’s Old Town, located near the centre of Tallinn. It was built at the end of the 19th century, when it was named the Grand Hotel, one of the first of its kind in Tallinn. With an excellent location it has quick and easy access to Tallinn`s medieval old town and harbour. The building was reconstructed in the 1920’s, playing host to an hotel and a restaurant / cocktail bar right up until 1940. The building miraculously survived the bombardment of March 9, 1944, when half the residential areas of Tallinn were destroyed. The Hotel was last fully renovated in 2003 by Skåne. Mid 2010 it was renamed the Economy Hotel by the new owners.
