1. Zante (Zakynthos): Navagio Bay

In Greece, there are many incredible beaches, but the most beautiful can be found on the island of Zante. Navagio Bay, also known as the "Smugglers Bay", is a perfect postcard motif with its shipwreck. High rock walls protect the small beach which can only be reached by boat - adding to its seclusion.

Our tip: 

Take a short walk to the observation deck on the rocks for a perfect view of the clear sea.

2. Majorca: Cala Agulla

Far away from the party beaches, you can find some idyllic locations in Majorca. Cala Agulla is one of the most beautiful beaches on the popular Balearic Island. The sheltered bay is surrounded by a nature reserve near Capdepera. With white sand and an untouched quality, it’s the perfect retreat for holidaymakers looking to relax. There are two restaurants and a kiosk on site - so you do not have to worry about supplies.

Our tip: 

Try stand-up paddling or rent a kayak to explore the beautiful area.

3. Corsica: Plage de Palombaggia

The "Plage de Palombaggia" is one of the most beautiful beaches of the island of Corsica and will enchant you with its breathtaking colours. From the crystal-clear water, which allows a view down to the sandy bottom, red rocks stand out from the water, which together with the different blue shades of the sea and the green pine forests give a wonderful contrast. Nearby you will find numerous beach bars, where you can recuperate with a drink and a snack for the next round of sunbathing or relax outside in the evening watching the sunset at the end of a perfect day.

Rent a pedalo to discover the surrounding rocky islands.

4. Croatia: Zlatni Rat

The "Zlatni Rat", the "Golden Horn", on the island of Brač is one of the most popular beaches in Croatia. A 500-metre wide promontory, which is surrounded by a beautiful sandy beach, protrudes out into the sea. At the Golden Horn, windsurfers can be carried over the waves. Sun worshipers, however, can treat themselves to refreshing dips in the cool water. The top of the beach is also famous because it changes its orientation depending on the wind. Basically it sometimes points north, then again to the south.

Our tip: 

Hike up Vidova Gora Mountain, from where you have a unique view of the Golden Horn.

5. Sardinia: Cala Goloritzé

The most beautiful and most photographed beach in Sardinia can only be reached on foot or by inflatable boat. Already you’ll have found the drive to Cala Goloritzé a highlight. Passing the beaches of Cala Sisine and Cala Luna, you can drive along the bay of Golfo di Orosei. From the boat, you have an incredible, 30-metre-deep view of the bottom of the sea.

Dive into the water on a snorkelling tour and discover a fascinating underwater world.

6. Cyprus: Nissi Beach

One of the best beaches in Cyprus. On the long stretch of fine sand, you can do pretty much anything your holiday heart desires. After sunbathing, take a walk down to the shoreline. In the deeper water you can snorkel, and as the tide drops gently, the small island of Nissi can easily be reached on foot.

Our tip: 

In the high season, great beach parties take place on Nissi Island.

7. Turkey: Kaputaş

In the southwest of Turkey you’ll find this quiet holiday oasis. The white sandy beach is located in a small bay. After descending about 200 steps, you’ll reach the clear water and gentle waves. The only drawback, you’ll be searching for restaurants and bars in vain - this is a quiet spot - but the perfect place to rest.

Our tip: 

Experience a little adventure in the 200-metre Kaputas Gorge, which can be reached from the beach via a narrow path.

8. South of France: Calanque de Sorniou

Just 20 minutes from the southern French metropolis of Marseille, is the rocky coast of Calanques. Along the coast, you will find several fjord-like bays surrounded by rugged rocks. One of the most popular bays is Sormiou. It is within easy reach of uninhabited islands just metres from the beach.

9. Island Comino at Malta: Blue Lagoon

Turquoise blue water and small stretches of beach framed by rugged rocks: The Blue Lagoon lives up to its name and has been the scene of such films as "Helen of Troy". The bay is located on Comino, just opposite the island of Cominott. These two islands are located between the main island of Malta and its neighbouring island of Gozo. To protect the fragile archipelago and the species living there, the authorities put the Blue Lagoon under special protection in 2002.

It’s at its most beautiful in the early morning hours - so set your alarm.

10. Spain: Marbella

If you are looking for exclusivity, you are in the right place in Marbella. Next to one of Andalucia's most beautiful beaches, you'll find a great selection of great hotels, restaurants and boutiques. Marbella also has a picturesque old town with great cafes and small shops. Historically, there is much to discover here. Architecturally interesting buildings from different eras, as well as l remains from the time of the Moors are all over the historic centre of the city.
