The Swiss National Museum
Housed in a splendid late 19th-century Historicist building, the Swiss National Museum examines the history of Switzerland from the prehistoric to the contemporary era, and is noted for its comprehensive collection of late medieval artworks. Here, you can also see a special coin collection from the late medieval and Renaissance eras, as well as a fascinating porcelain and faïence exhibition at the Zunfthaus zur Meisen, an impressive 18th-cenutry Baroque building.
The Fraumünster
Built on a former abbey that had been founded in the 9th century, the Fraumünster is an iconic church that was remodelled near the end of the 19th century and is noted for its prominent green spire.
