1. Magaluf

Magaluf is probably the best-known Majorca nightlife destination, and it keeps going from strength to strength. BCM Planet is the biggest and most famous of the Majorca nightclubs: an all-night super-club that frequently hosts the finest DJs and dance nights in the industry. It’s a must-visit at least once in your life. The Strip, or Puenta Baena, is where the party’s at, home to legends such as Boomerang, an underground venue hosting live acts, Bananas, a purveyor of fine electro and house since the ‘80s, and Tokio Joes, a buzzing R&B and hip hop venue. Although this town was born to club, there are an increasing number of glamorous bars to sip cocktails as the sun sets, such as the Zhero Boathouse, Nikki Beach Club and Rooftop Nine. The latter is actually inside Sol House The Studio, a 4-star adults-only venue with two pools, a restaurant and several other bars. It creates its own party atmosphere, hosting pool parties, theme parties, DJ sets and acoustic concerts. To be at the heart of the action, just steps from BCM, head to Samos Hotel. It’s an all-inclusive resort with two large pools, a spa, an international buffet restaurant and three bars.

2. Palma Nova

Just along the coast from Magaluf – a mecca for clubs and nightlife in Majorca – Palma Nova is a destination for sun, sea, sand and a healthy helping of bars and pubs too. It’s certainly quieter than its neighbour, but if you want to try out the Magaluf strip one evening, it’s an easy party bus ride away. The main offering here is a selection of classy bars, restaurants and cocktail joints stretched out along the back of the beautiful sandy beach. It’s great for a relaxed night out, with plenty of sports bars, Irish bars and English-style pubs. Two popular dance venues are Banana Joe’s, with a hip, younger crowd, and Reflex Disco, a retro-themed bar and club playing old-school classics. Check into a balcony room for your stay here at Sol Palmanova, an all-inclusive establishment with four outdoor pools and a buffet restaurant, snack bar and lounge bar. Alua Hawaii Mallorca is a chic 4-star hotel and apartment complex with gorgeous views over the bar. Besides the pool, with a vista over the Mediterranean, there’s also a restaurant, chill-out terrace and panoramic bar, which has a lovely atmosphere for evening cocktails.

3. Alcudia

Alcudia may not be as well known to outsiders, but among locals it’s a Majorca nightlife hotspot, boasting plenty of easy-going bars and clubs for all-night revelry. If you’re looking for a fun evening out that’s family-friendly too, try Pedro Mas Y Reus (known as Dollar Street). It’s packed with things to do, from restaurants, late-night creperies and ice-cream spots to Irish bars, English-style pubs and the infamous Goodfellas music bar for all your favourite tunes. For a wild night out with club vibes, head to ever-popular Banana Club. It’s actually a complex of clubs, attracting a younger crowd and conveniently surrounded by late-night takeaways. For a more upscale evening, try the Marina or Port of Alcudia for a good mix of chic restaurants, cocktail bars and more laid-back late night joints. While you’re here, stay at the colourful 3-star Bellevue Club, which features spacious and convenient apartments and rooms, eight swimming pools, a restaurant and even an on-site Irish bar to get the evening started. Innside Alcudia is a chic 4-star spot just a few minutes’ walk from the beach, offering modern rooms with balconies. The site also has two outdoor pools, two restaurants and a pool bar.

4. Santa Ponsa

Santa Ponsa is known for being quieter than Magaluf, making it a great choice for families and mixed groups. Nonetheless, it’s a fabulous Majorca nightlife spot, whether you’re seeking clubs, live entertainment, sports bars or pubs with dedicated kids’ activities. Ramon de Montcada is the strip, home to most of the big nightclubs and dance venues, including Disco Inferno, Kitty O’Sheas and Fama. Basement Club is a popular spot that often parties until 6 a.m. Families tend to enjoy The Square (Los Jardines) on the Costa de la Calma side of the bay, where you can find bars, restaurants, late night shops and plenty of family-friendly entertainment. The Santa Ponsa area is also known for its party boats – be sure to book early if cruises with sunsets, drinks and DJs are your thing. Why not stay at Jutlandia Family Resort? It’s a complex of modern apartments a short walk from the beach, offering kitchenettes, a terrace or balcony and multiple pools on site. The Zafiro Rey Don Jaime is another 4-star spot close to the heart of the action. There’s an indoor pool and spa, an outdoor pool and a sky pool, as well as several bars and a buffet restaurant.
