Opening in 1905, the Novello Theatre suffered from bombing in the First World War during a heavy Zeppelin raid that saw 19 bombs fall on The Strand alone. More recently, in 2005 the Novello Theatre took on a £4.5 million refurbishment as part of its centenary.
