Starting with just 53,500 passengers carried in the first year of operation with two wet leased aircraft, Air Malta now carries over 2 million passengers every year and operates with ten aircraft. Did you know that Air Malta’s IATA Airline Code KM has a special meaning? KM means Knights of Malta. There cannot be a more suitable airline code. Air Malta’s novelties this summer!

Air Malta has just introduced a new online ancillary tool entitled Go Business Upgrades. KM guests, holders of an economy class ticket, will now receive an email around 7 days prior to departure inviting them to bid for a business class upgrade. Guests can decide how much money they wish to bid to be upgraded. Depending on the amount of the bid, the price of the economy class ticket and the capacity of the flight, some guests may be upgraded.

The new model offers business customers a more personalised service and a gourmet meal presented on specially designed Maltese themed crockery that celebrate the Maltese Islands’ traditions, history and culture. Air Malta’s Business Class is available on specific routes with a selection of over 36 different menus. Menus change depending on seasonality, flight duration and timings.
