The brand new floating platform situated in Royal Victoria Dock is more adventurous than a first glance might suggest. Before becoming a 4-star hotel, it served its purpose as a penitentiary institution. After a fabulous renovation in its hometown Amsterdam, the hotel has travelled all the way over the channel to find its new home in the trendy East London. The design is often described as pure industrial, and offers a funky mix of modern minimalism and Dutch/Nordic cosiness. The lobby and restaurant area of the hotel is called The Living Room and it already has become a new communal hot-spot.
