Whinlatter Forest Park

Adrenaline junkies should head to the Whinlatter Forest Park which stretches for 1,200 hectares. The park is home to a specially designed Go Ape treetop assault course which is a great family activity. The park also offers bike hire and has two thrilling mountain bike trails. If you’re lucky you might catch a glimpse of a rare red squirrel as the forest is designated as a reserve for the endangered animals.

The World of Beatrix Potter

The best place for any Beatrix Potter fan is the World of Beatrix Potter which is located in the heart of the town Bowness-on-Windermere. The attraction has lots on offer including a film detailing the life of the author as well as a meticulous recreation of the garden featured in Peter Rabbit. There’s also the unique chance to take a virtual walk through the Cumbrian countryside with 360˚ views created with special projectors. The attraction also has its own gift shop which has a great selection of gifts inspired by Peter Rabbit and his friends for you to take home.
