Emirate nestled on a peninsula in the Persian Gulf, Qatar has more to offer than just its capital and its futuristic buildings. Of course, Doha is a must, its museums are as remarkable for their collections as for their singular architecture, the Islamic Art Museum or the National Museum with its sand rose shape are two perfect examples. It would be a shame not to explore the desert, ideally as far as the inland sea of Khor al Adaid, an astonishing sea of salt water in the middle of the dunes.
