Opened in 1890 by Albert, Prince of Wales, Vauxhall Park is a spacious green area that all the family can enjoy. Receiving the Green Flag Award on numerous occasions, the park is immaculately kept and has plenty of things to see and do.


There’s a children’s play area for the little ones, and chess tables in the Vauxhall Motors Centenary Lavender Garden, providing you bring your own pieces. There’s also a games area for basketball/netball and two tennis courts if you want to get physical.


Adults and children alike will be charmed by the Model Village here, built by Edgar Wilson in the 1940s as a hobby. Recently renovated, this series of miniature cottages with mock Tudor frontages are a delight to see and are regarded fondly by locals.


Art and History

There are plenty of cultural attractions just a short walk from most Vauxhall Park hotels. The Tate Britain houses a fascinating collection of paintings from 1500 to the present, as well as numerous exhibitions. With over 70,000 works, highlights of the gallery include paintings by esteemed artists such as John Constable, William Blake, and J. M. W. Turner.

Ashes to Ashes

Cricket fans will want to visit the Kia Oval Cricket Ground, home to the Surrey County Cricket Club and not far from many hotels near Vauxhall Park. Built in 1845, the first FA Cup final was held here in 1872. It was also the scene of England’s historic Ashes win in 2005.
