3 Star Hotels in London

London is one of the most popular cities to visit in the world and it’s not hard to see why. Britain’s capital has a plethora of exciting attractions, unique luxury department stores and a vibrant arts and culture scene. Whatever you’re coming to the city for, you won't be disappointed.

The Shard

A great way to start your trip to London is with a visit to its newest skyscraper. The Shard is the tallest building in Western Europe and its viewing platform offers breathtaking 360˚ views of London. The Shard is also home to the highest shop in London, The Sky Boutique which has a great selection of unique souvenirs and mementos for you to buy.

Harry Potter

If you’re a film buff then London is the perfect place to visit, especially if you’re a fan of the boy wizard. There are lots of companies which offer special Harry Potter tours which travel around London by foot or bus allowing you to visit many of the iconic filming locations. You should also visit Kings Cross Station where you can see the platforms shown in the film. The station even has a special shop built to resemble Ollivander’s Wand Shop where you can pick up your very own wand.

For the most devoted fans there’s the Warner Brothers Studio tour which is located just outside London. You get a unique chance to see lots of the famous sets and animatronics used in the films – it really is magical.

Arts and Culture

London is home to some of the largest and most comprehensive art collections in the world so if you’re an art lover you won’t be disappointed. A great gallery to visit is the National Portrait Gallery which, when it opened , was the first portrait gallery in the world. Today the gallery is home to a fantastic collection of works by artists from Rembrandt to Hockney.

Another place to visit that is less well known is The Wallace Collection. The London museum has an amazing collection that includes paintings, furniture and even armour.

If you’re a shopaholic you’ll love London as it has a fantastic range of shops to choose from. There are famous department stores like Harrods and Harvey Nichols as well as large Shopping centres like Westfield. However, if you want a more unique shopping experience, you should try visiting the Portobello Market which sells a great selection of fresh food as well as rare fashion pieces.
