From museums to markets, a cinema, and stadium, you’ll have plenty of things to enjoy during your stay here. Find a cheap hotel near London City Airport and explore this vibrant district where history and culture meet.

Step on up to the Waterfront

If you’re searching for hotels near London City Airport, there are lots of iconic areas nearby to visit.  The London Docklands reflect Britain’s legacy as a trading empire and the regeneration of the area over the last few decades has created luxury apartments and a gleaming financial district. Canary Wharf here has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to enjoy.

Just a short walk away, on West India Quay, is the Museum of London Docklands which showcases the history of the River Thames and London’s Docks.

Catch the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) south to Greenwich, where you can visit the Cutty Sark clipper ship, the National Maritime Museum, and the Old Royal Naval College, designed by Sir Christopher Wren.

Stalls, Boutiques, and Tasty Treats

There are lots of shopping opportunities at the nearby Greenwich Market, one of the oldest in London. Here you’ll find all kinds of gems, including antiques, beautiful craft items, fashion boutiques, designer jewellery, and beauty products. Enjoy a relaxing massage at Bodies at Work, pick up some vintage jewellery from the Jewellery Box, or browse the latest bestseller at Waterstone’s.

When you’re hungry, stop by one of the many delis, bakeries, or cafes here, where you can try lots of freshly made treats, from Brazilian Churros, to vegan cakes at Vegan Sweet Tooth London. There’re also familiar faves such as Café Rouge and Costa Coffee if you just need a coffee fix.

For liquid refreshments, there are plenty of pubs to choose from, including the Coach & Horses, Ye Olde Rose & Crown, and the King’s Arms for a fine selection of real ales.

Rock and Bowl

If you’re staying at a hotel near London City Airport, it’s just a short ride to the 02 Arena. Formerly the Millennium Dome, this 20,000 capacity arena hosts many big names, including performers such as Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga, and Ed Sheeran.

There’s also a bowling alley (Brooklyn Bowl), a Cineworld, and restaurants such as Byron, Garfunkel’s, and Pizza Express if you need to refuel.

The ExCeL London exhibition centre at Royal Victoria Dock is also nearby, hosting a range of events from the Wedding Fair, to the MCM London Comic Con.
