Chiswick House

The third Earl of Burlington designed Chiswick House in a style that was inspired by Italian architect Palladio, who based his buildings on those of ancient Rome. Following extensive restoration, the house and William Kent-designed gardens are now at their 18th-century best.

Fulham Palace

This part of London affords the opportunity for marvellous riverside walks. The Thames Path takes you from Hammersmith to a splendid edifice that has survived 1,300 years and was home to a succession of Bishops of London until 1975.
