Exploring the area
If you do feel the urge to stretch your legs and see some of the sights around the venue, there are plenty of great places to keep you entertained.
For starters, the Crystal is a project that takes a look at the future of cities and how they can be made sustainable, so it’s an educational and interesting spot to visit. A ride on the London Cable Car gives you amazing views over the Thames, or you can hop on a boat and discover the waters that way, by booking with a company like Silver Queen River Cruises.
For a bit of light entertainment, head to Brick Lane Music Hall and enjoy a matinee performance and afternoon tea, or a slap-up meal with an evening show. Or to get away from it all, pop to the tranquil green oasis, Thames Barrier Park.

With so many bars and restaurants to choose from at the exhibition centre itself, you may be tempted just to stay on site. But if you do fancy a little walk, there are lots of other eateries to visit close by.
The Oiler Bar is a fun spot to spend an afternoon or evening, La Barrique Wine Café is popular for breakfast, and you can soak up the views of the docks and the O2 Arena from the classy Lands’ End Restaurant.
