4 Star Hotels in Jersey

4 Star Hotels in Jersey

An oasis of calm

Jersey is a jewel of the English Channel -- a place unlike any other. With its relaxed pace of life, its countryside and beaches, it's the perfect place to unwind.

Measuring just nine miles by five, Jersey packs a lot into its compact size. the largest of the Channel Islands, it sits just fourteen miles from the coast of France. It's an island that's rich in history having been inhabited since neolithic times, and its unique past and proximity to France make it unlike any other place in the British Isles: a place with its own language and culture.

Modern Jersey is prosperous and quiet, with the rolling farmland of its interior giving way to miles of golden sands on the coast. A mild climate with warm summers means that any time of year is a good time to visit and sample the island's lifestyle, fresh air, peace and quiet and great food.

Sand, sea and surf

Being an Island, Jersey's particularly well served for beaches, and whether your taste runs to lying there soaking up the sun, a rambling beach-comb or something more vigorous, there's something for you. The wide expanses of St Ouen are perfect for a stroll, but it's also a mecca for surfers, with a busy surf school. Plemont Bay is an idyllic cove of golden sands and rocky caves and St Brelade's beach is perfect for families, with plenty of amenities and child-friendly gently shelving sands.

Sea food (...and eat it)

A great spot for foodies, the island is famous for its Jersey Royal potatoes, but the real highlight of a trip is the local seafood, which is probably the freshest and most flavoursome in Great Britain. Try the Crab Shack at St Brelade's bay for informal and unfussy eating. The Oyster Box in St Brelade and Bistro Rosa in St Helier are also highly rated.

As a tourist hotspot, the island has many quality 4 star hotels all having the amenities you'd expect, from WiFi to pools. The Royal Yacht in St Helier, The Golden Sands in St Brelade and the Somerville in St Aubin all offer excellent service, clean and airy rooms and wonderful sea views, but there are, of course, many other high-quality, luxury and quaint 4 star hotels to choose from.
