The Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) in the heart of the city has a wonderful collection of contemporary work, while Scotland Street School tells the story of education in the country from the late 19th century to the late 20th century. The Riverside Museum, Scotland's museum of transport and travel has a fantastic collection of cars, bikes, trams and trains to admire, along with street scenes that bring the objects to life.


Open spaces    

There's no shortage of green spaces in the centre of the city, giving Glasgow a wonderfully open feel. Take time to stroll through Kelvingrove Park towards the West End where you'll find the impressive Glasgow Botanic Gardens.

Meet dog walkers, joggers and cyclists as you follow the banks of the River Kelvin, or make for the north of the city to find Sighthill Park and its stone circle.

Live entertainment      

You'll have no problems filling your evenings during a stay in Glasgow. Get tickets for the O2 Academy Glasgow, the famous Barrowland Ballroom or the striking SECC auditorium to catch touring bands, including some of the biggest names in the music industry.

An excellent programme of live drama is on offer at the Citizens Theatre, King's Theatre Glasgow and the Tron Theatre. Pay a visit to The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Sauchiehall Street to enjoy some live classical music.
