Seychelles Hotels

The Seychelles are a collection of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean sits close by to the equator, and so enjoys a really warm climate all year round. On your trip to the Seychelles with you can expect to see idyllic palm trees and long-stretching blue waters, across all these islands.

Your options for beaches will depend on which island you choose. Although there are 115 islands, most are not typical tourist destinations, so you’ll have to pick from the handful available. On Mahe (the biggest of the islands) you’ll find a real range of beaches to pick from. On the South West coast is Anse a La Mouche, a great beach to take the family along to, with really safe swimming in relatively shallow waters. Not far from there is Anse Aux Pins, another good beach in Mahe where you can take the family, it enjoys narrow beaches so you’re never too far away from the relaxing sounds of the waves.

The island of La Digue also has some great beaches. Anse Bonnet Carre beach, on this island, has postcard-style views to enjoy whilst you relax. The beach’s steep banks are covered in lush green plant life, making for some great holiday snaps. From elsewhere on La Digue you can hop on the Zico 1 Boat charter and see more of the island from the waves on one of their regular fishing trips.

Many of the hotels and resorts are located on the water, like The North Island Resort which is made up of classical wooden decking and has plenty of different balconies and secluded spots for you to peer out across the sea from, usually framed by palms.

Things to do

Seychelles food is a combination of flavours from the island’s neighbours and previous visitors. The food blends African, French, Indian and even English tastes to form a really distinct feeling of its own. Fish is understandably popular on this series of islands, but you can expect a range of unusual sides like egg-plant, mangoes and pumpkin all with main meals.

Once again your activities will depend on your island of choice, but there’s plenty to choose from all across the Seychelles. On the island of Praslin you will find Café des Arts. This stylish candle-lit restaurant is modern and well-renowned on the island. The outdoor terrace overlooks the water from amongst the palm trees and the kitchen serves up some classic Seychelles dishes.
